Our accommodation
The original house was built in 1846 and was originally a private residence. During its conversion to a care home many of the authentic features of the house were retained and it has been sympathetically and tastefully decorated in an elegant fashion reminiscent of its origins. The main house has eight bedrooms all of which have fantastic views over the grounds.
A warm welcoming hallway balances modern décor with a traditional homely feel and leads through to a light and spacious lounge. Leading from the main house is a purpose built ground floor extension which consists of 32 bedrooms. All of these rooms have en-suite facilities and are decorated and furnished to a high standard.
There are two comfortable lounges both of which have direct access to an enclosed garden. There is a dining room for those who enjoy mealtimes with others. There are also specialist facilities for bathing and showering.
In April 2008 the Woodland suite was opened. With 19 en-suite bedrooms this unit specifically caters for those with dementia and provides a safe and secure environment in which to promote wellbeing. There is a large lounge with unlimited access to a secure sensory garden where the residents can take an active role.
Wherever you or your relative is placed, residents are encouraged to make their room as homely as possible with their own possessions including their own furniture if desired. This can often ease the transition into the care environment.
