Our staff

We recognise the importance of our staff and value them highly, so ensure they have the necessary skills to carry out their respective jobs. You can be confident that staffing levels will be sufficient to provide full support and meet your care needs.

Staff ratio

In any home it is essential that staffing is adequate to meet the needs of the residents. To this end we ensure that:

• Between 7am and 7pm we have two qualified nurses on duty assisted by eight or nine care staff
• At night we have two qualified nurses on duty assisted by four care staff

Regular auditing by the manager ensures these levels are sufficient.

We have a full complement of care staff, housekeeping staff and catering staff many of whom have completed NVQ level 2 and 3.

In addition we have eight registered nurses assisted by eight senior carers with NVQ level 3.

Our activity co-ordinators have a wealth of experience and provide therapeutic experiences for the residents at Holmwood House in group and one to one sessions. They also organise an excellent and varied programme of entertainment which is thoroughly enjoyed by residents and their families throughout the year.

Our services and maintenance team keep the home in a good state of repair and ensure any work needed is done efficiently and effectively. We are proud to maintain a high level of safety and cleanliness. We have a groundsman who maintains our beautiful setting.
